2025 edition

Two Experiences. One Purpose. A Celebration of Black Culinary Legacy.

During the 2025 Black History Month, Table Zaire hosted not one—but two powerful culinary gatherings that brought community together around food, culture, and storytelling. From a vibrant Afro Fusion brunch to an elegant multi-course dinner, each experience honoured the richness of Black heritage through flavour and community-building.

The Brunch Experience

Our daytime guests enjoyed a lively and delicious 3-course brunch, featuring a blend of African and Southern-inspired dishes. With Rumba and Soukous rhythms in the background, mimosas flowing, and shared laughter around the table, the brunch embodied joy, good vibes and connection.

Highlights included:

  • Chicken & Plantain waffles with a maple butter

  • Passion fruit Mimosas

  • Chai Infused tres leches with a chantilly cream

The Dinner Experience

In the evening, guests were welcomed into a more intimate, atmospheric setting for a 4-course Afro Fusion tasting menu with crafted drink pairing. Each dish served as a tribute to traditional foodways of Africa and the Black diaspora—reimagined through a modern lens.

The dinner featured:

  • Plantain Oxtail dumplings

  • Seared scallops on a spiced aromatic coconut curry

  • Braised lamb shank in a peanut sauce with Plantain Croquettes

  • Chai infused tres leches with a chantilly cream
