My name is Nice Mena, and I am a Congolese Afro fusion chef. I am the lead chef at Nicecooks, my vision is to create spaces where African culture meets fine dining. I am devoted to bridging the rich culture of African culinary traditions with the flavours and techniques of modern global cuisine.

Cooking for me is more than just a skill or a job, it is my language, my passion, and how I share my soul with the world. ​

I come from a family where food was the pillar to building kinship. The kitchen was where stories were told, traditions were passed down, and love was expressed through flavours. 

As I grew, so did my understanding of food as a bridge—a way to connect cultures, spark conversations, and nurture relationships. That realization fuelled my passion for Afro fusion cuisine.

 

Cooking is my canvas, and every dish a love letter to my roots and the people who inspire me. It’s where tradition meets innovation, where past and future collide, and where I find my deepest sense of purpose.
